Hot-melt adhesive
A high-temperature environment is a common cause of coming unglued. Hot-melt adhesive has a specific temperature resistance range. When the ambient temperature exceeds the upper limit, the adhesive softens, and its internal cohesion decreases, making it unable to maintain sufficient adhesive force. For example, in the hot summer, items pasted with hot-melt adhesive outdoors are prone to coming unglued.
A high-humidity environment should not be underestimated either. Excessive water vapor can penetrate between the adhesive and the bonded object, breaking the chemical bonds between them and weakening the adhesion. For instance, in a humid environment like a bathroom, items fixed with hot-melt adhesive may fall off after a long time.
In addition, erosion by chemical substances may also lead to the adhesive coming unglued. If the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive comes into contact with chemical reagents such as strong acids and alkalis, its chemical structure will be damaged, and the adhesive force will naturally decrease.
